It was a beautiful day in May in 2016 at the Sankeien Garden(三渓園). Where the place is located about 45 min total, bus ride plus a short walk, from the Yokohama station.
Master Junichi Hakose (箱瀬淳一) had an annual exhibition along with more than thirty artists and creators of handmade artworks from various areas such as Japanese kimono textiles, bamboo works, glass works and more.
The exhibition is named Nihon no Nastujitaku (日本の夏じたく;meaning preparation for Summer in Japan) and planned every year to be held at one of the beautiful historical Japanese housings made in the Meiji era; a former house of Mr. Sankei Hara called Kakushou-kaku(鶴翔閣). This year, it was their 10th anniversary exhibition. (Entering the exhibition is only by invitations.)

The traditional Japanese house was full of Japanese hand made items carefully displayed by the artists to present to the fans and to connoisseurs invited.

Master Junichi Hakose (箱瀬淳一) loves this exhibition, meeting and exchanging ideas with his artist friends from different areas, and enjoys the slow and calm atmosphere in the beautiful Kakushou-kaku(鶴翔閣).
Master Hakose exhibited his latest items from various series.

Customers are not in a rush, they have enough time to talk with the artists and time to decide which ones to purchase.

Wide corridor of the Kakusho-kaku makes the inside atmosphere very traditional yet calm and mind fulfilling.

One of the best items I found in this Master Junichi Hakose’s (箱瀬淳一) exhibition was this two-tired box with many bicycles.
A lady, who is a big fan of Master Hakose also liked it very much.

There were many fine, cool and intriguing items to prepare for our hot and humid Summer .
“I hope that I can visit this place again in next May.”

That is my natural feelings at the end of the day and I think that is what everybody thinks, when you have once experienced this exhibition; Nihon no Natsujitaku (日本の夏じたく).
And I truly believe that is the key, that this event has continued for 10 years and going. Cheers!
Thank you ! Hakose Sensei,
for this extraordinary experience !!

I hope you have a chance to visit Sankeien Garden sometime and enjoy the traditional Japanese atmosphere.
